Thankfully !!<div><br></div><div>I use software that is not on everyone's plate ( i.e. VectorWorks ) , so I will probably delay implementing Snow Leopard until I get word from Nemetschek Software that VectorWorks is compliant . Even the changeover to Leopard ( 10.5 ) required an expensive upgrade to run that software - the previous version had display problems after the move to Leopard - all I recall was the cost to upgrade VW, which was about the same as a Mac Mini .</div><div><br></div><div>I tend to err on the side of file safety , and have been buying external backup drives with every new change of Mac hardware . I have never regretted that investment - particularly after my G5 iMac was stolen , and has yet to be recovered . My latest , a Time Capsule just sits in the corner , doing its thing without prompts on my part . Just what the doctor ordered , even if a little expensive compared to other external drives . Wireless and effortless - can't ask for more !</div><div><br></div><div>Alex</div><div><br></div><div>p.s. I've had good success with Data Rescue II software in the past , but the files I recovered were not written over . It even worked for the SD card from my camera when I realized in horror that I had just scrubbed photo files before downloading them . Luckily I realized right away what I had done and took no other photos before the recovery process . The recovery was 100% .</div><div><br></div><div>Good luck to those who lost data .
