Apple Stylewriter 4500?

Hi folks,

I have a mint Apple Stylewriter 4500 that I pulled about four years ago from my mother’s home when I upgraded my mom and dad to a G4 iMac and iBook (they are 79 and 84 respectively and tool around the Net pretty well).

Anyway, my mother is still my mother and she INSISTED I not toss the 4500, even though it has a serial connection and is (relatively speaking for Mac hardware) ancient. So . . . Any suggestions/guidance on the 4500?

Are there drivers for it in the 10.5.6 environment? Is it worth getting a conversion cable for the serial connection if so?

I am thinking the best option is to put it through the Goodwill process for someone with an OS 9 or earlier machine to enjoy but wanted to see if any of you had better advice.

Thank you!
