<html><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; ">Folks,<div><br></div><div>These days I find friends, neighbors, colleagues, famous people and sometimes entire organizations making a complete switch to an enlightened life with Macs, iPhones and iPods at work and play ..... </div><div><br></div><div>.... delivered from a tired and frustrating legacy of PC use .... </div><div><br></div><div>.... and it is almost to the level of "being set free" from the problems inherent in the Windows platform. It is always a happy day to meet a new Mac user.</div><div><br></div><div>Many public displays of Mac affection are strategic and intentional on TV and in movies .... in Apple's highly successful product placement efforts.</div><div><br></div><div>Some Mac spottings are not so intentional and are very cool to share with others. </div><div><br></div><div>In many ways it gives all us Mac users more evidence to evangelize on behalf of Apple. I mention the US Government's use of Apples in the Army and FBI all the time.</div><div><br></div><div>So, having this phenomenon of pervasive and yearly Mac usage increases in all walks of life is definitely OK to post here on this list .... </div><div><br></div><div>=========</div><div><br></div><div>Here are a few guidelines to consider before you post:</div><div><br></div><div>1. Have some <b>valid proof, not rumors </b>..... example : I heard recently that a large PA university is "mandating" all incoming freshman buy a Mac .... not PC's, only a Mac. I need to research this first before I post an unsubstantiated rumor.</div><div><br></div><div>2. Post a <b>screenshot of the Apple in use</b> or link to some visual or written <b>reference to help our listserve members research it further</b> for their own "bragging rights" to spread the word. Having the NPMUG and at least one other source of reference makes evangelizing Apple's growth more valid and trustworthy.</div><div><br></div><div>3. <b>Don't editorialize</b> beyond the spotting of the Mac and please refrain drawing conclusions as to why that company or individual is using Macs in your words .... please <b>try to find their words</b> as the background for supporting their use of Apples.</div><div><br></div><div>Dave</div><div><br></div><div><br></div></body></html>
