[NPMUG] Problem with periodic daemon in 10.6

I just upgraded from 10.4 to 10.6.  In 10.4 I used ancron to run the periodic program for daily, weekly and monthly.  In 10.6 I tried running anacron and got two sets of periodic daily runs, which told me the periodic daemon must be working correctly in 10.6.  Consequently, I turned anacron off yesterday, but so far today I have not received a run from periodic daily.  The plist sets StartCalendarInterval to hour 3 and minute 15, which I interpret to mean it should have run last night at 3:15AM, except I can't find the work "periodic" in any of the log fils in /var/log.

Can anybody explain what is going on?
