Now THIS brings back memories! I remember being at the grand opening
in 1999, back when my only wish in the world was to have a tangerine
iBook (which I got the following year and still use today). I remember
we had a few Pittsburgh Computer Store guys who worked there for some
time as well--lots of names looked familiar from the old store in
Pittsburgh.
I actually was the winner of one of the raffle prizes--an Imation
SuperDisk drive! (Those were the drives that could read both floppies
and 120MB SuperDisks, which never really took off). The only problem I
had at the time--my newest Mac was an LC, meaning I couldn't use it
with any of my hardware! Thankfully I was able to put it into service
when I got the iBook the following summer. The drive is still 100%
functional and is used on the clamshell to this very day.
It's been a great run with many awesome memories. I can't wait to
check out the new store and am hoping to stop by that day. (If there's
any prizes for grand opening like there they had last time, maybe luck
will repeat itself--a MacBook Air sure would be nice to have!)
