Hi all & Happy New Year!

My question regards tracking website statistics.

I am the webmaster for the non-profit Pennsylvania Trolley Museum and we need information on website traffic for grant requests.  When I looked it up online one of the suggestions in the article I read referred me to Google Analytics along with several other lesser known options.

Other services I checked rated our site at 5.4 millionth rank for hits, no surprise there I suppose but I am curious how to make it better.  I also got a couple 5 out of 10 rating when I use another kind of rating site.

My question: From your experience is Google the best route to take or are there others that are better suited to non-profits.  Are there any downsides or charges that might be incurred by committing to such a service.
