[NPMUG] Goodwill CRC update, February 5, 2010

Dear Mac friends:

Many thanks to Charlie Hutchens, John Hamill and Tucker Trainor for joining me at the Goodwill Computer Recycling Center today. 

We worked hard today. Honestly. It's just we did a bunch of other stuff that doesn't show up on databases. I've got witnesses.

We refurbished just 2 Macs to bring our all-time total to 2,320. We sent a 17-inch CRT ADC Studio Display to recycling land.

And we spent hours trying to get past a firmware password on four donated eMacs. Finally, someone said, "Why don't we email Charles Firth?" Well, duh. Problem solved. But we wasted all that time trying to be the geeks we're not. Somehow, there's a lesson there....

We need USB keyboards and mice. Still.

Our next scheduled workday is Friday, February 12. We will not celebrate Valentine's Day. Because we all love our Macs and don't need an artificial holiday to validate our feelings. But some of those little candy hearts with letters on them would be nice. Especially if they have "Command-S" on them...
