HI Dave,
I've read the NPMUG postings for years but have never contributed. I don't
know if this is the kind of question that can be posted or not. I called the
Cranberry store but no one knew anything about QB Pro. I don't know who else
to ask. If this message can be posted, please delete this top portion before
posting.
thanks,

Hi Friends,
Does anyone use QuickBooks Pro for Mac?
I have been running QuickBooks Pro since 2004, currently using the 2007
version. Although my accountant is much happier with QB Pro, payroll remains
an ongoing issue for me. It must be farmed out to software by Aatrix (on my
computer). I run payroll on Aatrix then export the information to QB.
Although Aatrix has fantastic tech support (at a reasonable cost), the
program itself is limited in that it can't departmentalize payroll within a
corporation. Example: in order to run an income vs cost for each department
within the corporation, I had to create a 9-pg spread sheet, transfer
payroll information from Aatrix and then let my 9-pg spread sheet calculate
the payroll cost per department. Then transfer the payroll cost breakdown to
another spreadsheet and add to it the QB departmental income and expense,
I've heard some complaints that the QB 2010 has no real improvements. Does
anyone know if QB 2010 for Mac has its own payroll program with the new
version and if so, is it capable of departmentalizing payroll--and if it
works well.
Thanks,
Ellen
