Dear Mac friends:

Many thanks to Charlie Hutchens, John Hamill, Tucker Trainor, and Dave
Sevick for joining me at the Goodwill Computer Recycling Center today.

Today was an insanely productive day. We refurbished 24 Macs and only
had to de-manufacture one. Our all-time total is now 2,161. We left
eight more imaging on the workbenches when we left.

We were also able to clear the fourth floor storage area of our
unprocessed inventory and place them near our work area which should
allow us to be a bit more productive. These iMacs are the last of the
400+ Macs donated to Goodwill by the Keystone Oaks School District
back in mid-2007. We've found these machines (about 100 eMacs and 300
iMacs) to be in excellent condition with a very high rate of
successful refurbishment. In case you're wondering, the eMacs are long
gone; they were the first to be refurbished in late 2007.

The fourth floor now only has our completed machines. Today's count
was 79 OS X iMacs with CDs, 24 OS X iMacs with CD/DVDs, 10 600 mhz OS
X iMacs with CD-RWs and 11 OS 9.2 tray-load iMacs. This does not
include the inventory already in the ComputerWorks store.

Our remaining unprocessed inventory now only resides in Goodwill's
basement; most of it was brought with us during the move from the
CRC's previous location in Lawrenceville.

Our looming crisis is we don't have enough Apple USB keyboards and
mice for the Macs we will be completing in the next several weeks.
Please check those closets and basements for any you don't need. Please?

A construction note: It's still there, only it's even worse. You know
what to do :-)

We'll be taking a week off to avoid the potential traffic havoc the
G-20 summit promises to create. We will have our next workday on
Friday, October 2. Hope to see you there!
