[NPMUG] Goodwill CRC update, September 11

Dear Mac friends:

Many thanks to Charlie Hutchens, John Hamill, Tucker Trainor, and Dave  
Sevick for joining me at the Goodwill Computer Recycling Center today.

Today was spent attacking the backlog of donated Macs Goodwill has  
received in the past three weeks. Donations dropped of significantly  
this week allowing us to make a big dent in the loading dock bins.

Today we refurbished 15 Macs and de-manufactured another six, passing  
the pieces along Goodwill's recycling chain. We also re-imaged three  
Macs from ComputerWorks store returns, and condemned eight Apple  
Studio Display CRTs to the truck for Great Lakes Recycling for safe  
and proper recycling. Our all-time total is now 2,137.

A construction note: It's still there. You know what to do :-)

We'll have another workday on Friday, September 18. Hope to see you  
there!

As a planning note, we will NOT have a workday on Friday, September  
25, in honor of the G-20 Summit diplomacy or mass civil disobedience,  
whichever you may prefer. We just don't want to try to get here from  
anywhere just then :-)
