I've sung praises for this well designed scanner before ... but this
weekend I was once again floored by how well this scanner handled this
super-thin 50-year-old Sears & Roebuck employee newsletter my mother
collected and recently passed on to me :

The ScanSnap has a straight-thru-scan path that does not distort or
damage even the most fragile paper while taking a single pass over the
lamp. If it would become jammed, the entire front panel opens wide.
Simple and useful.

Having scanned over 1600 old photos into hi-res jpegs and over 650
business documents into text-readable PDFs .... with not one precious
photo or vital paper document damaged ..... I can once again renew my
endorsement of this great tool for the Macintosh.
