Dear Mac friends:
Many thanks to Charlie Hutchens, Rich Fitzgibbon, John Hamill, Tucker
Trainor, Dave Sevick for joining me at the Goodwill Computer Recycling
Center today.
Today we reaped the benefits of our visit last week from the St.
Alphonsus School Tech Team. Their timely work in preparing our
untouched keyboards and mice, and helping organize them on shelves,
allowed us to jump in this week without having to work around the
stuff piling up around our work benches.
Good thing, too. Again this week, we received more than normal
Macintosh donations, and we're falling a bit behind in keeping the
receiving area clear of Macs.
Today we refurbished 23 Macs and de-manufactured another 17, passing
the pieces along Goodwill's recycling chain. After adding another G4
iBook from the Marty Swartz workshop, our all-time total is now 2,121.
A construction note: Yeah, they're still at it. The 26th St.
intersection with East Carson looked like an oil refinery underground
as all the utilities are rebuilt. ComputerWorks store access is still
an adventure. They're open, but you have to dance about the fences.
We'll have another workday on Friday, September 11.
Hope to see you there!
