Dear Mac friends:

Many thanks to Charlie Hutchens, Rich Fitzgibbon, John Hamill, Tucker
Trainor, and Dave Sevick for joining me at the Goodwill Computer
Recycling Center today.

We returned to form today with a better match of iMac from the
basement storage area. We refurbished 18 Macs and re-imaged another.
We only have five to de-manufacture. Our all-time total is now 2,236.

The good news today was a donation of 48 keyboard and 56 mice from the
Westmoreland Community College. This helps a long way with our
shortage of keyboards and mice. We still lack keyboards and mice to
furnish over 200 machines already refurbished and more yet to be done
in storage. We're still begging, folks...

A construction note: They're STILL working on Carson St....

We will have a special workday on Friday, October 30.

We will NOT be refurbishing any Macs. Instead, we will be starting
early at 8:00 a.m. to begin packing the 50 iMacs we've prepared to be
sent to Nyadire, Zimbabwe. This task is decidedly non-technical, and
we can use any help we can get. If you want to see where our Macs are
headed, you can visit www.nyadire.org

We will also be joined again by the Tech Team from St. Alphonsus
School in Pine Twp. We will be teaching two classes (about an hour
each) on how to de-manufacture iMacs and Power Macintosh Towers into
components for responsible recycling.

Everyone is welcome to participate in either, or both, activities.

Hope to see you there!
