[NPMUG] iTunes song lists out of order

When I import a CD into iTunes, it imports all of the tracks in the  
wrong order.

When I burn a playlist to CD, all of the songs appear to be out of  
order when the CD is inserted in the Mac.  However, when I play the CD  
in another player, the songs are in the correct order!

I've Googled this problem and have tried various suggested fixes, but  
nothing seems to work.  Some have suggested opening the Get Info tab  
and manually numbering the songs - 1 of 12, 2 of 12, etc. - which is  
time consuming and doesn't work.  Other posts suggested right-clicking  
on any column header (Name, Artist, etc.), making sure that Track  
Number is checked, and then making sure the arrow is facing up in that  
column.  This doesn't work either.  In iTunes preferences, I've  
checked the box that says Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized.

It's driving me crazy!  Can anyone suggest something that will fix  
this?  This problem popped up about a week ago; I never experienced  
this before.
