Dear Mac friends:

Many thanks to Charlie Hutchens, Rich Fitzgibbon, John Hamill, Tucker
Trainor, and Dave Sevick for joining me at the Goodwill Computer
Recycling Center today.

And also many thanks to the St. Alphonsus School Tech Team for joining
us again this morning to continue to learn about computer recycling.
Although seemingly boring on its surface, the students find it's quite
entertaining to actually rip something apart, albeit in an orderly
fashion. They helped us de-manufacture 15 Macs, ranging from a
venerable LC to a PowerMac G4 Tower.

There are photos on Dave Sevick's MobileMe website:

We also managed to refurbish five more Macs to bring our all-time
total to 2,257.

If you're a fan of the ancient PowerBook 100 series, your time is up.
We brought about 50 100 series PowerBooks from the basement this
afternoon, and they are scheduled for de-manufacture at Goodwill next
week. So if you plan on being a Mac collector, let me know NOW.

We still have a shortage of USB keyboards and mice, so when you get
one of those swell new Mac keyboards or new Magic Mouse in the next
couple of months, please think of us as a home for your old ones.

Not counting today's refurbished models or the Macs sitting in the
ComputerWorks store, we have 154 iMacs completed and stored on
Goodwill's fourth floor. There are 15 OS 9.2.2 tray-load CD models, 20
OS X.4 slot-load CD/DVD models, 20 OS X.4 slot-load CD-RW models, and
99 OS X.4 slot-load CD-ROM models. All OS X.4 models have 512 mb RAM
and hard drives of 20 gb or more.

The construction on Carson St. at the Goodwill building is in its
final stages. Work is now being done to rebuild the sidewalk along
Carson St., closing the ComputerWorks store normal entrance. There is
a temporary entrance on the South 26th St. side of the building near
the front corner. Look for the red door.

Our workday schedule for the coming holiday season is this:

Friday, November 20: Yes
Friday, November 27: No
Friday, December 4: Yes
Friday, December 11: No
Friday, December 18: No

So that's just two workdays remaining this year. Hope to see you there!
