Tored email worm rears its head on Mac OS X
----
Malware on Apple Macs continues to be nothing like as commonly
encountered as on Windows computers - but that doesn't mean Mac users
are completely immune from threats. Find out how a new email worm
affecting the Mac platform caused a stir, but presents little threat
in the real world.

----------------

This note comes from today's Sophos Newsletter ... and is being passed
on to you ... to keep Mac users informed on the status of malware on
Apples running OS X.

As time goes on we'll be updating you with any news we hear and place
it in context of the numerous ( over 250,000 ) PC Windows threats on
the web.

That's right .... Macs are still way way better ..... and undeniably
safer to use. Tell all your friends.

Until that fact changes, expect us to keep on talking about this ....
endlessly :-)

Dave

FYI

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malware

Malware = "software designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system
without the owner's informed consent ...."

And the key words here are "informed consent" .... so as we preach
here often >>>

1. don't open unknown files
2. never enter your Apple administrator user name and password on
anything you do not understand and intend to install.
3. you can always check with us here on the listserve .... we are all
here to help ....

OK .... I'm getting off my soap box now ....

Dave
