[NPMUG] What works with iPhone OS 3.0

I got lucky and was able to download and install iPhone 3.0 at 1:30PM
yesterday. Many people had to wait for an opening on through the
server bottlenecks during the initial release hours after 1PM
yesterday. I agree with many people who thought a midnight 6-17-09
release would have been better strategy .... with a ton of night-
watchers pounding servers through the wee hours of the morning.

Download ( saved to file ) took about 25 minute .... and install went
perfectly over about 15 minutes.

Here is what I've tested and can confirm as working and not working
features on my iPhone 3G 16GB with OS 3.0 :

---Working---

Copy-Paste of text, photos, vCards.

Auto-Fill on Safari web pages from your own vCard and saved passwords.

Landscape keyboard in Mail, Messages, Contacts, Notes, Safari, and
many apps.

Spotlight searches from Home page and in many apps.

iTunes Store purchases of George Harrison songs.

Message app forward, delete, copy-paste of text.

Shake to undo and redo typing.

iPod sound has a much louder range.

Double Click Home button has more choices .... I chose the new
Spotlight option.

Recent calls shows city, state and what kind of phone.

Voice memos is very cool. Before this I was calling my voicemail to
dictate notes.

Hyperlinks in Mail and Safari when you press-hold will give you a page
of options ( copy, email, new page, etc ....)

Home page jiggling apps to move will not rearrange your icons as you
flip though headed for the destination spot.

CalDAV with Kerio Mail Server and iCal works great ... to be able to
see delegated shared calendars of other users.

Screenshots with Power+Home buttons ... still works.

----Not Working Yet----

Shake to shuffle iTunes songs does not work. I don't see a setting to
allow/disallow ... yet.

Notes do not sync.

MMS is not activated by AT&T .... they say late summer 2009.

Single app Force Quit with the Power+Home buttons depressed ... still
gives "slide to restart" single option for the entire phone to reboot.
