Mark,
I would highly recommend downloading OpenOffice from
www.openoffice.org. It's a great suite of office applications that
many folks prefer over Micro$oft.
Another alternative is NeoOffice, which is based upon the same code.
Either of these will do the trick and allow you to create .docx
documents, if desired.
