Immediately useful to me was a new app announced and released tonight  
by Apple:

An important service message for MobileMe members.


Dear MobileMe member,

We're pleased to announce the availability of the new MobileMe iDisk  
app for iPhone and iPod touch.

The iDisk app lets you access your iDisk folders and view files in  
formats supported by iPhone OS 3.0 including iWork, Microsoft Office,  
PDF, QuickTime, and more. The app also makes it easy to share files  
from anywhere. In just a few taps, you can email a link that lets  
friends and colleagues download a file directly from your iDisk. To  
learn more, watch the tutorial.

MobileMe iDisk app is available now as a free download from the App  
Store. Before you install it, please make sure you are running iPhone  
OS 3.0 on your iPhone or iPod touch.

1. Download and install the free app from the link above.
2. Enter your MobileMe account name and password and immediately see  
your iDisk contents.
3. Point to a document, choose the "Share" icon and you are presented  
with an email.
	- choose a recipient or many recipients
	- set an expiration date for the published link and a password if  
desired
	- MobileMe iDisk app sends a message along with the link in a  
handsome html email ( like iPhoto Gallery emails )
4.  ( the best part ) the recipient of the notification email ( mac or  
pc )  clicks on the link and gets a really fast FTP style download via  
their web browser.

In the example screenshot I post below this 80mb file downloaded in  
less than two minutes ( 700-900k/sec over Armstrong Cable ).  I did  
this with several other files.

THIS IS A KILLER APP !     Well done Apple !!!!     Simple, secure,  
FREE and very handy utility.
