[NPMUG] The passing of Louis Hill, our friend from The Center For Hope in Ambridge

With great sadness, I relay to you the news that Louis Hill, age 62,  passed away on Monday Nov 30th unexpectedly.



Louis was the key grassroots community support person for the computer recycling program we hosted in Ambridge at the The Center For Hope / Fellowship United Methodist Church.  

Thanks to  his endless energy, personal relationships with families and businesses and churches in the Beaver Valley, loving devotion to his family and friends, deep faith in God, consistent outreach to teens in need, craftsmanship in fixing everything he saw broken, and most of all his GREAT sense of humor ..... he was a icon and role model and a rock for many people in  Aliquippa and Ambridge.  

Everybody knows Louis Hill !  And with his tireless help on the streets meeting people, shaking hands, and telling them about our program, we went from a volume of 71 computers in our Butler operations to more than 600 computers distributed to needy families while at The Center For Hope in Ambridge spanning 2004-2007.

I will personally miss this wonderful man,  his laughter, and grand spirit that could fill a room.

Here is Louis Hill in a photo taken 12-28-2004 at Steelers Headquarters on the South Side of Pittsburgh where he won a $10,000 award for his outstanding community service.
