I just ran into this tonight.....  will take a bit of getting use to.   
A hint, when adding additional pdf's, add over the top of the first at  
the top of the sidebar.... just dragging to the sidebar does not merge  
pdf's into the new and fancy booklet.

I think Apple is trying to be a bit to "graphic fancy".
