[NPMUG] stolen iphone recovery!

Today's Post-Gazette had a short article describing how the GPS
features of a stolen iPhone were used to track it and recover it.

Didn't this topic come up on the NPMUG mailing list a while back?  I'd
love to know the specifics of how to do it.  Google and the Apple App
Store both point to iPhone apps that are ...um...  not getting great
reviews.  Does anybody have a pointer to "best practices" on this
technique? Thanks in advance for any pointers.
