One thing to note about this announcement is that they had a similar
statement about CS 2 when 10.5 was released as you can note from below when
10.5 was released.

Q. Will Adobe offer technical support for CS3 applications running on
Leopard? What
about for older versions of Adobe’s creative software?
A. Yes, Adobe will support Creative Suite 3 software running under Leopard
according to its
normal policies. Please visit www.adobe.com/support to check the Adobe
knowledgebase for any
issues related to Mac OS X Leopard (v10.5) support, and for detailed
information about our
complimentary and paid support programs. Older Adobe creative software was
not designed
to run on Mac OS X Leopard, so you may experience issues installing and
using the software
for which there are no solutions. Please note that Creative Suite 2 and CS2
applications are
only supported under Adobe’s paid support programs.

Q. Will older versions of Adobe creative software—such as Adobe Creative
Suite 3 or Macromedia® Studio 8
software—support Mac OS X Snow Leopard (v10.6)?
A. Older versions of Adobe creative software were not included in our
testing efforts. While older Adobe and
Macromedia applications may install and run on Mac OS X Snow Leopard
(v10.6), they were designed, tested,
and released to the public several years before this new operating system
became available. You may therefore
experience a variety of installation, stability, and reliability issues for
which there is no resolution. Older versions
of our creative software will not be updated to support Mac OS X Snow
Leopard (v10.6).

One thing to note is that I have a few dozen installs of CS2 on a 10.5
computer both PPC and Intel and those people continue to use the apps in
their workflow without issue.
