[NPMUG] Goodwill CRC update, Septemter 26

Dear Mac friends:

Many thanks to Charlie Hutchens, Rich FitzGibbon, John Hamill, Tucker  
Trainor, Bruce Wells and Dave Sevick for joining me today at the  
Goodwill Computer Recycling Center for our weekly workday.

Today's tally was 15 Macs, bringing our all-time total to 1,479 Macs  
rehabilitated. Among the choice Macs sent to Goodwill's ComputerWorks  
store today were a top-of-the-line eMac 1.42 ghz and a 15-inch G4 iMac  
800 mhz with AirPort. A couple of 1.2 ghz eMacs were also in the mix.  
All these Macs are capable of running OS X.5 Leopard.

Today's Patience of Job Award goes to Rich FitzGibbon, who single- 
handedly replaced the Combo CD in a 1.2 mhz eMac and the hard drive in  
the 1.42 mhz eMac. Without losing any screws. Or saying bad words  
while he worked. We salute you!  :-)

On the down side, we sent nine DOA eMacs and six iMacs to their  
greater reward in the Heavyside Layer of recycling. So we batted .500  
today...

We'll gather at Goodwill again next Friday, October 3.
