Sometimes there are reasons to not post to the entire list.....   
ie   .... post 1 "it might be this blaa blaaa blaaa    post 2 "I  
think it is this blaa blaaa blaa... etc etc  in some cases there may  
be only one person that has the correct solution

In many situation there are many solutions  " this way works best for  
this and that way works better in you are trying to do this..." or  
there may be a lot of dialog between the asker and answerer before a  
solution is found.

I would say it is a judgement call.
