[NPMUG] Closing an App

In recent weeks I have had an Adobe application -- "Media Player" --
appear in my dock at login. Despite trying to close it, it will not
close. Checking or unchecking the "open at login" command has no
effect -- it is always there. I cannot find a "force quit" command.
It just won't go away. It may have come in with an Adobe update,
maybe some other way. It is a pain and unwanted. Can't get rid of
it because as I drop to trash, I get a response that it cannot be
trashed because it is open. Thoughts?
N.B. Thanks to all who offered tips on my keyboard malfunction. All
for naught as it died its unnatural death. All-in-all not a bad
thing as I now have a new wired keyboard and mouse which I like a
whole lot better! If any one thinks the keyboard might be fixable, I
am happy to donate . . . together with the old and still functioning
wireless mouse.
