[NPMUG] Goodwill CRC update, August 15

Dear Mac friends:

Many thanks to Charlie Hutchens, Rick Fitzgibbon and John Hamill for  
joining me today at the Goodwill Computer Recycling Center for our  
weekly workday.

Today's tally was 21 iMacs, 19 OS X and 2 OS 9 models. This brings  
our all-time total to 1,370 Macs rehabilitated.

Goodwill's ComputerWorks store on the South Side (2600 East Carson  
St.) is overflowing with the fruits of our efforts. Models include:

• OS 9.2.2 tray-load CD iMac for $39.00 or $25.00 in lots of five.
• OS X.3.9 slot-load CD IMac DV (400-500 mhz) for $79.00 or $50.00 in  
lots of five.
• OS X.3.9 slot-load CD iMac DV (600 mhz) for $99.00 or $75.00 in  
lots of five.
• OS X.3.9 Power Mac G4 Tower from $100.00. Monitor included.
• OS X.3.9 eMac (700 mhz) for $199.00 or $149.00 in lots of five.
• OS X.2.9 eMac (1.0 ghz) for $249.00 or $199.00 in lots of five.
• OS 9.2.2 Power Mac G3 Tower for $49.00. Monitor included.

OS 9 Macs have a wide variety of educational software for children.
OS X Macs have AppleWorks 6.

Each Mac has had its hard drive erased and re-imaged with a clean OS.  
The CDs have been tested. Each Mac has a new logic board (PRAM)  
battery. OS X Macs have a minimum of 256 mb RAM.

If you don't see it in the store, it's in storage on an upper floor  
and easily brought down.
